The gala tasting of the Prague Wine Trophy medal wines took place at Michna Palace in Prague's Lesser Town on Thursday 2 March 2023 from 4 to 8 pm.
During the galadegustation, visitors had the opportunity to taste more than 700 of the best wines from 72 medal importers or directly from the winemakers.
The Galadegustation is the annual culmination of the prestigious international wine competition Prague Wine which has been taking place in Prague since 2007. During this time it has built a great reputation. The international jury is composed of winemakers, wine merchants, sommeliers and journalists. They are judged using a unique comparative method where wines are evaluated in batches of twenty wines of the same variety three times in a row, compared to each other and their development is monitored. This makes the Prague Wine Trophy a recognised mark of wine quality.
Representatives of Slovak wineries took part in this great event:
Angel Wines, Dubovský & Grančič, Miro Fondrk, Karpatská perla, Loczi winery from Limbach, Ostrožovič, Rusnak Grinava, Tajna Winery & Vineyards, Villa Vino Rača, Vínko Klimko Modra and VPS - Pavelka and son.
A total of 1816 wines from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and Lebanon took part in the Prague Wine Trophy competition in 2022. The participation of foreign wineries was record-breaking.
39 wineries from Slovakia participated in the competition.
From the wineries in our offer, 14 wineries took part in the competition ( Angel Wines, Dubovský & Grančič, Miro Fondrk, Karpatská perla, Kozara, Ostrožovič, Carpate Diem, Cintavý & Pisarčík Vinárstvo, Modran Klimko Wine, Repa winery, Tajna Winery & Vineyards, Sykora Fine Wines, Winery BAYNACH (REVA Bojničky), Winery BRIGANT) and their wines received a total of 114 awards.
Slovak wines reached a total of 236 medals.
